The Guyana Association of Georgia Inc., held its 1st Virtual Tea Party on Saturday, April 3, 2021.<\/p>

The event was well attended. This year, there were no captains for the tables, however, individuals and friends were responsible for decorating their tables.\u00a0 Some were entered in the best decorated table competition. Tables had the traditional Guyanese cuisine which included pastries, cake and of course a variety of teas. Tables were judged based on Creativity, Presentation and elegance. The coveted first place was awarded to Mrs. Lisa Prince for her table entitled \u201cSpring Is Here\u201d. The second prize went to Mrs. Marrie George for her table entitled \u201cMardi Gras\u201d.
Guests were entertained with musical renditions from Zoe Allen and on the Saxophone was Jade Gittens from Toronto, Canada.\u00a0 Giving us a taste of \u201cDis Time Nah Lang Time\u201d were Mr. Ted Matthews of Georgia and his brother Dr. Lear Matthews of New York.<\/p>

Then came the fancy hats modelled by 13 guests, the Judges had a difficult time selecting the\u00a0 winners: 1st Natalie Robertson, 2nd Greta Piggott, 3rd Marrie George and little Miss Zoe Allen\u2019s hat gained her 4th place. However, all the hats were beautiful and participants were ALL winners. Brenda Danrade who had a decorated table full of goodies, made 5 beautiful hats that were showcased by her friends, one of which won the first prize.<\/p>

The event proved to be quite enjoyable and successful.<\/p>
